ARFF Adapting Structural Equipment
This course provides comprehensive material about adapting structural firefighting equipment to Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting. Personnel will learn about tools and equipment normally used for structural firefighting, which are also used for aircraft rescue and firefighting.

ARFF Aircraft Cargo Hazards
This course provides in-depth information about hazardous cargo or materials that may be present at the airport. Personnel will learn about the different classes of hazardous material or (HAZMAT). They will also learn about different types of HAZMAT situations and the appropriate level of protection and safety precautions required for each.

ARFF Aircraft Familiarization
This course provides in-depth information about the different types of aircraft serviced by the airport. Emphasis is given to aircraft structure and configuration and is required knowledge for ARFF responders. Personnel will learn about aircraft structural components, aircraft engine hazards, flight data and voice recorders, onboard aircraft fire protection systems, aircraft emergency shutdown procedures, and basic aircraft configuration.

ARFF Airport Familiarization

This course provides in-depth knowledge about communication procedures between aircraft experiencing an emergency and the Air Traffic Control Tower, Incident Command, ARFF, and mutual aid responding units. Personnel will learn emergency communication procedures, how to complete a “short report,” and important information on aviation radio communications.

ARFF Safety
This course provides icomprehensive data about occupational health and safety hazards for ARFF personnel. The course also includes an introduction to ARFF Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Personnel will learn procedures for maintaining safe operations. Personnel will also learn about common ARFF hazards, the effects of stress, safe accident scene operations, and PPE use.

ARFF Tactical Operations
This course provides extensive information about the tactical operations for fighting aircraft fires. Emphasis is on the different situations ARFF personnel may encounter during the performance of their duties. Personnel will learn about the different types of aircraft accidents and incidents; in-flight emergency operational procedures and tactical response, ground emergency operational procedures and tactical response, airplane crashes, incident management systems, response setup, and procedures.

ARFF Consulting
Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting is a highly specialized area of the fire and emergency services.
Compile
Coordinate with Airport/ARFF group to obtain all available documents and information necessary. SSi reviews the current status of contracts, procedures, and any specific agreements.
Review
The SSi ARFF consulting team will perform the airport site visit to evaluate the current efficacy of in-place operations. The analysis will include equipment, staffing, training and the overall organizational structure of the ARFF team. The evaluation will include mutual aid operations if applicable.
Recommend
We will evaluate the gathered information and make recommendations to help ARFF/Airport personnel achieve their goals and objectives. Our recommendations will address city, state, and federal requirements to maximize efficiency and effectiveness with available resources and meet advisories to mitigate any deficiencies.
Deliver
The SSi ARFF consulting team will plan on another onsite visit to present the findings of the evaluation and the recommendations for the ARFF program moving forward.
