Delta adds Minnesota service at Blue Grass Airport

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7, Delta Airlines Inc. will offer two flights each way between Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Ky., and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The service will be operated by Pinnacle Airlines using 50-seat Canadair regional jets. The routes provide Lexington-area travelers with access to cities across the western United States, Canada and various international destinations, according to a news release.
Lexington-to-Minneapolis flights are scheduled to depart each day at 7 a.m. and 6:55 p.m. Flights from Minneapolis to Lexington are scheduled to depart each day at 3:30 and 7:15 p.m. CDT

Atlanta-based Delta (NYSE: DAL) also announced Thursday that it plans to increase service to Blue Grass Airport for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, which will be held in Lexington Sept. 25 through Oct. 10.
Delta will add more than 3,400 seats to Lexington during the three-week period, according to the release.
The airline will replace 50-seat regional jet flights between Lexington and its Atlanta and Detroit hubs with 142-seat MD-88 and 125-seat DC-9 aircraft.
Delta also will temporarily increase nonstop service between Lexington at New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Washington D.C.’s Reagan International Airport, to daily from six times weekly, according to the release.
Blue Grass Airport is served by seven major airlines that provide nonstop service to 14 major U.S. hub cities.
