Hawaiian Air flight delayed at LAX for extra screening

LOS ANGELES (HawaiiNewsNow) – 225 passengers bound for the islands had to wait in the terminal at Los Angeles International Airport as security officials did extra security screening on the flight. The Hawaiian Airlines flight was due to depart LAX at around 3:00 PM Hawaii time but ended up being delayed for over two hours.
Passengers on scene first reported seeing a number of police vehicles on the tarmac surrounding the plane. They were not allowed to board the flight. Later a passenger told Hawaii News Now that before they could enter the jetway they were told to put their belongings on the floor so that police dogs could sniff them.

Passengers were allowed to board the plane at around 4:45 PM Hawaii time.
