WASHINGTON (WTVA) — The Federal Aviation Administration approved grants for maintenance projects at 14 Mississippi airports Friday.
Each airport will receive a portion of the $4.8 million grant made available through the Airport Improvement Program.
Officials say the grants will be used for projects to improve operational safety and efficiency at airport facilities and range from terminal building improvements to hangar construction.
Locally, eight airports will receive part of the grants, including the Golden Triangle Regional Airport, George M. Bryan Airport, Okolona Municipal-Richard Stovall Field Airport, Columbus-Lowndes County Airport, Roscoe Turner Airport, Tishomingo County Airport, Grenada Municipal Airport and Houston Municipal Airport.
