FAA to Delay Tower Closures
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced Friday that it will delay the closures of all 149 federal contract air traffic control towers until June 15.

OU takes steps to keep tower open
University of Oklahoma President David L. Boren today announced that OU will provide bridge funding to keep the Max Westheimer Tower open and operating until budget issues are resolved in Washington.

Several Maryland counties are seeking state help in keeping air traffic control towers open at their local airports.

AAAE/USCTA FILE SUIT AGAINST FAA TO KEEP TOWERS OPEN
The American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and its affiliate organization the U.S. Contract Tower Association (USCTA) announced last week that they have filed suit in the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals against the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in advance of the agency’s plans to close 149 contract air traffic control towers beginning on April 7.

State limits aircraft lawsuits; law keyed to Airbus
In an effort to ensure that Airbus aircraft suppliers move to Alabama and not neighboring states, Alabama leaders have enacted a new law putting a time limit on lawsuits against the airplane manufacturer and its suppliers.
