Dan Burkhart, NBAA Regional Rep, Set to Retire
Business aviation veteran Dan Burkhart, who joined the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) in 1998 to create NBAA’s Regional Program, will retire from his post as the director of regional representatives for the organization, effective July 6th.

NBAA Selects Stacy Howard to Represent Western Region
Stacy Howard has been selected by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) as their new Western Regional Representative, replacing Dan Burkhart who is retiring on July 6. Along with Arizona, the region includes Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada and New Mexico.

Salina ARFF Station Fully Operational
Salina Airport Authority firefighters have been eager to move into their new building since the board approved its construction last September. The 10,000-square-foot Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Facility (ARFF) was fully operational as of June 18. The facility was paid for by a Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program (AIP) grant for $1.982 million. The airport’s 20 percent local match came to just more than $500,000.

Oklahoma Commission Approves $1.3 Million in Grants 
The Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission (OAC) recently approved state funding totaling $1.3 million for several airport projects across the state as part of its Capital Improvement Program.

Plans to build a new general aviation terminal away from the main terminal and control tower at Outagamie County Regional Airport are preparing for takeoff. The environmentally friendly facility, will include geothermal heating and rooftop solar.

The PHX Sky Train™ First to Ride High Over Taxiway

The PHX Sky Train™ became the first transit system in the world to cross an active taxiway. This is yet another major milestone for the PHX Sky Train™ project as it took its first official ride on the bridge over taxiway “R” while aircraft passed underneath the span.
