“SFO a popular airport among passengers”

Always pleased to see good news from our client airports. Congrats. SFO a popular airport among passengers By Michael Cabanatuan The San Francisco (CA) Chronicle You might not think so if you were stuck waiting to catch your flight during Tuesday's downpours and hailstorms, but San Francisco International Airport is apparently loved by passengers - at least those who took part in the annual Skytrax Passengers' Choice Awards. SFO ranked third worldwide in the category for airports with between 40 million and 50 million passengers behind Incheon (Seoul) and Kuala Lumpur international airports. The study was released Wednesday in the Barcelona airport. But no U.S. airport placed in the overall rankings of world's best airports,a category won by Singapore's Changi Airport for the second year in a row. Among North American airports of all sizes, SFO ranked fourth behind Vancouver, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky and Denver. The Bay Area's biggest airport also ranked fifth behind Denver, Vancouver, Seattle-Tacoma and Toronto Pearson airports for best staff in North American airports, a category that ranks customer service. "We are proud to be recognized in multiple categories by SkyTrax," Airport Director John L. Martin said in a statement. "Providing our guests with an exceptional airport experience is our mission, and we will pursue nothing less than a number one ranking in each of these areas." More than 9,000 air travelers from 160 countries participated in the survey for the awards, which are highly regarded in the air travel industry. Do you have an opinion about this story?
