A popular destination — Orlando, Fla. — will have a second daily JetBlue Airways nonstop flight beginning in June and running in spring, summer and winter, officials announced Tuesday.
It also marks a return to growth in Stewart service for the airline, which began serving Stewart on Dec. 19, 2006, but downsized its flights subsequently.

Announcement was made Tuesday by Susan Baer, aviation director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, speaking to the Orange County Chamber of Commerce at the Falkirk Country Club in Central Valley.
Baer said of JetBlue, “They stayed with us even as fuel prices skyrocketed and the economy tanked.”

JetBlue is Stewart’s largest passenger carrier. It also serves Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The Orlando flights, starting June 16, will depart Stewart at 9:30 a.m. and 7:35 p.m. Return flights from Orlando will leave at 1:02 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. In both cases, the later flights will be the seasonal ones.
Orlando is home to Disney World and other tourist draws.

Tickets are available now. Prices vary depending when you query, but the website Tuesday morning was offering roundtrip flights leaving on June 16 and returning a week later for $261.40.
