Woman’s Purse Stolen During Airport Screening

A Virginia woman was arrested at Indianapolis International Airport after she stole the purse of a passenger during a security screening, police said.The incident happened at the security checkpoint at Concourse B just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a police report.A New York woman told police she had placed her personal belongings on a conveyor belt but was then instructed to go to the full-body scan area.”While escorted into a private area, the airport staff took my things in, as I was not allowed to take them until I was cleared,” the woman was quoted in the police report.When she was finished with the scan, she said she noticed her pocketbook was missing from her things.Officials with the Transportation Security Administration viewed video from the security area, which showed a woman with a small child taking the purse, police said.Tatiana A. Brown, 23, was later located in the airport and arrested on a preliminary charge of theft.Her 3-year-old daughter was turned over to her grandparents.
